Ethernet and EFM
- FTTP, or "fibre-to-the-premises," connects homes directly to the exchange using fibre optic cables. Known as full fibre or ultrafast broadband, it offers superior and reliability.
FTTC stands for "fibre-to-the-cabinet," combining fibre optic and copper cables. Fibre runs to a street cabinet, with copper connecting to homes, also called part-fibre or superfast broadband.
SOGEA, or "single order generic ethernet access," is a type of part-fibre broadband. It uses the same FTTC infrastructure but is more reliable, with faster and cheaper installation.
